FAQ

Common questions.

If your question isn't answered here, it's a completely reasonable thing to ask directly — reach out through Contact Me.

Do you accept insurance?

I'm self-pay only right now — I don't accept insurance directly. What I do provide is a monthly superbill: a receipt with the clinical codes insurers need, which you can submit yourself for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful portion of the session fee; I'd recommend calling your insurer and asking about your "out-of-network outpatient mental health" benefit before we start.

How much does a session cost?

Individual sessions are $130 for 50 minutes. A free 15-minute consultation happens before any paid session, so you can ask questions and make sure it feels like a fit first. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available for clients experiencing financial hardship — ask during your consultation.

What's a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to give clients who are uninsured or not using insurance a written estimate of expected costs before treatment begins. I'll provide this in writing before your first session, outlining the expected cost of ongoing care. You can learn more about this right at cms.gov/nosurprises.

Do you offer Telehealth, in-person, or both?

Right now I'm telehealth-only. Sessions happen over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and are available to anyone located in Pennsylvania at the time of the session. I'm planning to open an office space for in-person sessions soon — this page will be updated once that's available.

How long does therapy usually take?

It depends entirely on what brings you in. Some clients come for a handful of sessions to work through something specific; others stay in longer-term, ongoing work. We'll check in on progress regularly, and there's never any pressure to continue longer than feels useful to you.

What ages or issues do you work with?

I work with adults (18+) around anxiety, depression, everyday stress, burnout, life transitions, identity exploration, relationships, and people-pleasing or boundaries. See the Services page for more detail. If what you're dealing with falls outside my scope of practice, I'll always try to point you toward someone who's a better fit.

What's your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less notice, or missed sessions, are billed at the full session rate, except in genuine emergencies.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, with the standard legal exceptions that apply to every licensed therapist: risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. I'll walk through this in full during your first session, and you're welcome to ask about it anytime.

What happens in the free consultation?

It's a relaxed 15-minute phone call. You can share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask anything about how I work, and we'll go over practical details like scheduling and fees. There's no commitment — it's simply a chance to see whether we feel like a good fit.

How do I get started?

Reach out through Contact Me and we'll schedule a free 15-minute consultation. The full walkthrough is on the Getting Started page.
